feat.GENERAL MALICE - Los Angeles, CA
Konkrete Jungle \ N2O \ Big CatFresh off his 46th vinyl release, General Malice continues to pave the way for the Hardstep - Bboy jungle sound. Malice brings to the table a combination of raw Hip Hop & Dancehall flavors mixed with hard crashing drums banged out on an MPC. Darkside drum and bass mixed with the soul & vibe of the oldskool. For years winning over crowds from LA to Tokyo and everywhere in between with his unique blend of mash-up showmanship and party bangers.
General Malice first began working with guitars, drum machines, synthesizers, and turntables when he was 14, slowly building his collection of studio gear and fine tuning his production techniques. After experimenting with many types of music, the sounds of CRS, R.A.W., ODG, Phantom 45, and Danny The Wildchild that turned him onto jungle/dnb. Cutting up futuristic beats and bass lines with a hip hop aesthetic, ragga vocals and rnb hooks, General Malice's unique style became a hit at parties. Years in the programming lab passed and Malice began to distribute a demo CD with five tracks which ended up being sold to N8’LOC of Nitrous Oxide (N2O) fame. Malice now had a premium outlet for his music. The first dubs pressed were being played exclusively by R.A.W & CRS in the beginning, building a demand for the fourthcoming releases on Big Cat Recordings (Japan). Big Cat's first five releases were received to critical acclaim, world-wide distribution, and entered the top ten figures on retailers like Satellite Records[citation needed]. Releases continued and the time came for a debut record on Los Angeles’s home of hot burners: N2O Records. “Launch The Attack” and “Guns Like Mine” were smash hits that catapulted Malice into new territory which featured an exclusive voicing by dancehall giant Wayne Marshall. In 2003 Malice was a part of N2O's Diss Da Program Tour, covering well over 20 dates and traveling thousands of miles. Headlining alongside R.A.W., Capital J, ODG, DJ 3D, DJ K, and Red Army, Malice took the opportunity to make his presence known and play exclusive dubs.
